The traditional Rich Internet Applications (RIA) has lookalike features and functions of the conventional desktop applications but provide improved interface, easy access and communication.

RIA is delivered by the indigenous browser through Plug-in or installed separately through sandboxes or virtual machines. RIA normally runs in a web browser and no major installation is required. Therefore, updating and distributing the application is an instant and automatic process.
