iPhone Apps - What is in it for me?
Once in a while there comes a wave of change that washes away all previous notions and assumptions that people have and changes the face of world as we know it forever. In the very recent past this type of a change was caused by the iPhone. The iPhone created a furor in the mobile devices market which is hard to ignore despite what many naysayers may say. This paper discusses some of the opportunities that have opened up thanks to the iPhone which can be capitalized on by different businesses.
Introduction
Recent survey of iPhone users show that 75% of them have increased their mobile browsing; this thanks to the user experience of browsing that is similar to browsing on your personal computer or laptop. So how can different businesses take advantage of this fact? Or what are the new business horizons that have opened up as a result of this? This paper discusses about some of the web applications that can be made ‘mobile’ friendly in order to capture the consumer base given the fact that around 17 million iPhones have been sold as of January 2009. It also provides ideas on building some new applications which may add to your company’s bottom-line. The primary focus of this paper is on applications that are consumer-centric and not enterprise-centric.
