Twitter unveils official Tweet button
| Twitter enables sharing interesting things on the web. Twitter already has some cool features like copying and pasting, link shortening, and bouncing between browser tabs, however, just to share a link in a Tweet is an arduous task that is unfinished. But with the launch of the Tweet Button, sharing is made easy and simple in a single click and this is a direct answer to Facebook Like button to garner more exposure and popularity. | ![]() |

The Tweet button can be placed anywhere on a blog or a website. This feature enables sharing of links directly from the page and tracks how many times a URL has been shared. Twitter button can be customized with text on each Tweet Button box to display to all users, as well as embed 1 or 2 Twitter accounts that should be recommended to follow. TweetMeme already has a ReTweet button but with this official launch of Twitter button TweetMeme would become redundant. Twitter joins Facebook, Google Buzz, Digg, StumbleUpon and Sphinn to introduce official buttons for their websites. Some of the sites that already have adopted the Tweet Button include CNN, YouTube, Time, Hulu and USA Today.

Twitter account holders will have to log in just once during a browsing session. When the user hits the Tweet button, a pop-up page will appear that will carry the blog/page title and custom short URL in Update box.

Twitter has 32 million registered users and over 100 million users worldwide, a 109 percent jump from a year earlier. About 65 million tweets are posted daily and about 2 billion tweets per quarter are reported.Over 7, 50,000 visitors used Twitter through their mobile phones.
