iPhone OS 4.1 is here now
iPhone 4.1 Antennagate prompted Apple to offer free cases to any iPhone customers
iPhone OS 4.1
Apple released the first beta version of iOS 4.1 and the associated software development kit (SDK) to developers on July 14, 2010. iPhone OS 4.1 can be updated through iTunes. iPhone 4.1 update beta loses a couple of bars and didn’t fix Death Grip initially. The well known signal reception problem i.e. Antenna Death Grip in this update did not fix most of the issues on the just released Apple iPhone 4 that reportedly displayed loss of a couple of incorrect signal bars fully or closely when the phone is held in a certain way. Consequently, Apple admitted the antenna problem and revised the calculation method which made the signal display too many bigger bars though the problem persists. In order to mitigate for the reception problem, Apple is offering free cases to customer for any iPhone and a refund for those who already shelled out the $30 for a Bumper case up to September 30, 2010 in order to win back loyalty. iPhone OS 4.0.1
