Facebook Questions
Facebook officially launched its ambitious new product, Facebook Questions, which is a question and answer service aimed to provide personalized expert-driven answers to queries from the online profiles comprising friends, friends of friends and other members within the Facebook community, which the user would normally post on someone’s wall. Facebook questions is now available to approx. 1% of users, without the API. As soon as the API is released, Facebook developers will incorporate the feature in facebook apps or its extensions and is expected to tap into the Questions database for use outside the wall which will make the facebook questions powerful. Users can utilize the opportunity to ask questions simply by clicking “Ask Question” button on the homepage. Users have the option of adding a photo or a poll after their question. This application is made public and will be visible online.
Questions can be addressed to small groups which can be posted as a status update on the profile targeted to those people. Users can browse answers from experts on relevant topics or simply "Follow" against the question to get notification as and when a new answer is submitted. Similarly, users can browse all questions for academic interest. User can just select "Everything" from the "Questions about" drop-down menu at the top of the application, and click "Next Question" to start finding questions and sharing answers.
Social networking sites like Quora enhance its visibility for answers to topics gleaned from experts, which will keep the topic alive with a massive following. Facebook is expected to deliver relevant answers in a better manner since third-party sites nowadays use social networking profiles to match questions to relevant subject experts.
Would this help facebook developers to get technical questions answered quickly :) , lets wait and see.
