Facebook Email with Microsoft Office Web Apps Launched

Facebook has launched a new full fledged real-time email messaging system for personalized service across various platforms that integrates Facebook’s instant messaging system, Chat, SMS, Facebook messages and regular email Facebook introduces a Social Inbox feature that allows users to reply seamlessly across multiple devices to three different categories of messages, which filters personal messages from friends, those which are less important and the rest. The messaging service, dubbed ‘Project Titan’, will allow users to have a @facebook.com email address with POP access just like Gmail interface. The new message APIs will be without added additional functionality and so it doesn’t give Facebook developer new channels for communicating with users.
Facebook also integrates Microsoft Office Web Apps that enable users to create and share documents with friends on Facebook. Facebook users can view Microsoft documents like Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents with just one click, without having to install any additional software, just like GMail. Facebook's new messaging service will be available for a select group of users, to start with.
Facebook is already offers users richer ways through virtual gifts, games, location and the recent Skype integration for voice.
